Applicants with qualifications exceeding 10th/Matric/SSLC are not eligible to apply for Act Apprenticeship, except for MLT posts which necessitate a 12th/HSC qualification.
Additional Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be residents or registered with a local Employment Exchange in Tamil Nadu, with their registration not extending past the last application date, unless they are wards of Railway employees. Wards of Railway employees are required to submit a Railway employee's ID card or service certificate along with a UMID card and PPO copy as proof.
Vacancies for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are reserved based on specific trade requirements and disability categories, necessitating a minimum 40% disability documented by a Central/State Government certificate.
Age Limit
Age must be calculated as of September 7, 2026.
- ITI candidates: Aged between 15 and 24 years.
- Non-ITI candidates: Aged between 15 and 22 years.
Relaxations in age include:

Application Fee
An application processing fee of ₹100 plus applicable service charges is required, except for SC, ST, PwBD, and Women candidates who are exempt from this fee.
Once paid, a unique Transaction ID starting with "DU" will be sent to the registered mobile number, which must be preserved for future reference.
Selection Procedure
The candidates will be selected based on their marks in Std X. For those who completed Std X during the COVID-19 pandemic, they may submit proof such as the IX Std mark sheet or X Std half-yearly mark sheet approved by the Principal.
In the event of ties in marks, preference will be given to older candidates. If birthdates also coincide, the candidate who completed Std X earlier will take precedence.
Freshers will choose their preferred trades, which will be allocated according to merit and available vacancies. Change requests after trade allotment will not be entertained. Ex-ITI candidates will be trained in their specified trade.
Selected candidates must provide a Medical Certificate from a government-authorized doctor and produce the original Transfer Certificate from their qualifying examination during Document Verification.
