The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has published Vacancy Notice / Advertisement No. 04/2026 for a combined examination on behalf of the Delhi District Courts. There are 641 tentative vacancies, including backlog, for Senior Personal Assistant, Personal Assistant, Junior Judicial Assistant, Process Server and Peon/Orderly/Dak Peon, in the District & Sessions Courts and the Family Courts. Online applications open on 6 October 2026 at 12:00 noon and close on 4 November 2026 at 11:00 PM. Matriculates and graduates can both apply, depending on the post. DSSSB runs the objective (MCQ), descriptive and shorthand/typing tests, then sends the shortlisted candidates to the Delhi District Courts. The courts hold the driving test (for Process Server) and the interview, and prepare the final merit list at Tis Hazari, Delhi.
Each post code has its own combined examination. Your choice of post or department (District & Sessions Courts or Family Courts) is taken by the Delhi District Courts at the interview, and it cannot be changed afterwards.

Pay only through SBI e-pay. Payments made any other way are forfeited. The fee is not refunded. Ex-Servicemen who already hold a regular civil job under the Central Government, the Government of NCT of Delhi, or their autonomous or local bodies, obtained through Ex-Servicemen reservation, do not get the fee concession.

Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I (MCQ) and Tier-II (Descriptive) are 50% for UR/EWS and 45% for OBC (Delhi)/SC/ST/PwBD/ESM. Interviews have no minimum qualifying marks. Scores from different shifts may be normalised using the formula in DSSSB Notice No. 10 (271)/Sec.Cell/DSSSB/18/989 dated 11.07.2018. Ties are broken by age (older first), then by first name in English alphabetical order. There is no re-evaluation or re-checking.

In Tier-I, at most 25 times the number of vacancies are called for Tier-II. The shortlist is common to both posts. In Tier-II, at most 10 times the vacancies are called for the skill test, shortlisted separately for Senior PA and PA. In the shorthand test, up to 4% mistakes are allowed (22 for Senior PA, 20 for PA). No extra time is given for reading. You get two attempts, and the better one counts.

At most 10 times the total vacancies are called for the interview. Every MCQ carries 1 mark, and 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. For the Process Server and Peon papers, questions are in English and Hindi, except the English and Hindi language sections. DSSSB and the Delhi District Courts may change the scheme before the exam.

The notice gives pay bands with grade pay and pay levels. It does not give allowances or in-hand salary: Check official notification.
How to Apply for DSSSB 04/2026
- Go to https://dsssbonline.nic.in. If you have never registered on the OARS portal, click "Click for New Registration". Registration is a one-time step, and only one registration per candidate is allowed.
- Have a scanned photo ID ready (PAN, Voter ID, driving licence or passport, JPG/JPEG, 15–60 KB). If you give an Aadhaar number, no scan is needed. The registration session lasts 30 minutes.
- Use an e-mail ID and mobile number that are not already registered on OARS, and verify them by OTP.
- Enter your Class X roll number using numerals only, with no leading zeros. Your name, gender and father's name cannot be edited later.
- Log in with your registration number. Between 06.10.2026 (12:00 noon) and 04.11.2026 (11:00 PM), choose the post code under Advertisement 04/2026 and fill in the form.
- Upload a recent, clear colour photograph with a white or off-white background, full face and eyes open, and your signature.
- Pay Rs 100 through SBI e-pay, unless you are exempt.
- Check every field before submitting. No changes, including category, are allowed afterwards. Print the form for your records.
Important: Only one application per post is allowed. If DSSSB finds more than one registration or application, it rejects all of them and may debar you. Applications sent by post, by hand or by e-mail are not accepted.

Supporting documents are uploaded only when DSSSB calls for the e-dossier. If you miss that window, your candidature is not considered.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Applying under OBC with a certificate from outside Delhi that is not based on a Delhi OBC certificate of your family. Such candidates are treated as UR.
- Registering twice on OARS, or submitting two applications for the same post.
- Applying for Process Server without the required driving licence and experience by 04.11.2026.
- Uploading a blurred photograph or signature, or a photo with a coloured background.
- Ignoring the dress code. Light half-sleeve clothes and low-heel slippers or sandals are required. Shoes are not allowed.
- Carrying a mobile phone, calculator, earbuds or any metal item into the exam centre.
Preparation Tips
- For Senior PA, PA and JJA, final merit uses the descriptive (Tier-II) and interview marks, so practise English essays, grammar and short translations.
- Build shorthand and typing speed early. The skill test is qualifying, and you get two shorthand attempts.
- For Process Server and Peon, Tier-I marks count directly in the final merit. Revise Hindi, English, Arithmetic and current affairs evenly.
- Be careful with guesses, since every wrong MCQ answer costs 0.25 marks.
